This spring at the May Dinner Meeting, CNYSLHA’s Board was pleased to offer our 2019 scholarships to two outstanding students from SUNY Cortland: Hannah Truman and Stephanie Syrup.
Stephanie currently resides in Solvay, NY. She just finished her studies at SUNY, Cortland under the advisement of a former Distinguished Service Award recipient, Eileen Gilroy. She was able to attend the CNYSLHA May Dinner Meeting and accept her award. She attended with a guest and Theresa Manning- her mentor/host teacher in the SCSD- also a valued member of CNYSLHA. Stephanie met members within our organization and enjoyed engaging in conversation throughout the evening. Her intentions were to search for employment within the Syracuse area.
Our second scholarship winner, Hannah is a first year graduate student who was also recommended for this award by Eileen. She resides in Cortland, NY and will continue toward her master’s degree at SUNY Cortland. Hannah is an active member of NSSHLA at Cortland and is part of many projects in the Southern Tier area. She was also able to attend the dinner meeting with family members and shared that she is grateful for the scholarship and looks forward to finishing her program.
The board congratulates both Hannah and Stephanie on their accomplishments thus far and wishes them the best in the future both personally and professionally!
Details on the 2020 Scholarship will be shared soon
